The 2017 Borrego Springs Film Festival will be held here from January 12-16.
The first fundraiser, a recent concert by Jennifer Goodenberger, has already raised $1,800. As a film festival finale two prize winners from the 2016 festival will be shown again in town.
As a salute to locals who missed Film Festival films, the committee will show: People’s Choice Award: She Wore Silver Wings at the ABDNHA library, March 12, 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Directors will be there to answer questions. Best Documentary: Breaking Point at the Performing Arts Center, March 25, 7:00 p.m.
Scientists will be there to discuss the Salton Sea problems the movie addresses. Plans are well underway to adjust pricing, arrange parties and advertising, and clean up the horrible conditions in the restrooms adjacent to the Performing Arts Center.
