Anyone who is anyone in Borrego Springs showed up at the De Anza home of Jackson and Bunnie Hamilton on Black Friday, Novemeber 27, to see their great collection of artwork on display and for sale at great discounts. The courtyard was beautifully arranged with framed drawings, paintings, hand-crafted art, glassware, furniture, masks, and many more unusual creations that seemed to be scooped up as fast as the food spread.

A covered fireplace burned hot on the side of the courtyard and tables were arranged centrally with lovely dishes of unusual fare for the sharing. Carved meat, smoked salmon and cheeses with pate were placed near veggie arrays, garlic laced tomatoes and dried fruits. Soon, the giant plate of homemade cookies were brought out to the delight of the sweet tooth in everyone.

Wine was poured on the patio, a chili station with crackers provided bowls. Guests mingled inside and out the art strewn home, admiring the pieces the Hamiltons have collected in their journeys first for their own enjoyment, and then for the enjoyment of selling back to others.

Though the threatening sprinkles of rain caused Jack to move the show outside, then back inside, and outside again over the previous two days as they prepared, on the day, the clouds held tight, and the guests could browse the show without getting wet. The event could not be spoiled – it was meant to be another Jack and Bunnie success story.
