The Borrego Springs Chapter of the Kiwanis Club last met on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The meeting had six people in attendance and started with an introduction from Brad Tidwell, the Chapter President. Linda Haddock, the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce was present, and invites anyone interested in helping Borrego Springs youth or learning more about the service organization to attend the meetings. Pizza or El Borrego food will be served, from noon to 1:00 p.m.

Check out Borrego Springs' first, re-energized and growing local service organization that is 100 percent focused on what we can do for children, especially the children of Borrego Springs.

Kiwanis International is a global service organization celebrating its 100 year Anniversary this year, as our much loved Borrego Days celebrates its 50th.

Kiwanis is Borrego Springs' oldest service organization with the first chapter being formed by Borrego's community leaders over sixty years ago.

Kiwanis built the first Children's Hospital building in San Diego and continues to raise money for Rady Children's Hospital with its Miracle Mile of Quarters.

Join Kiwanians for El Borrego's lunches to learn why a number of your Borrego friends and neighbors are a part of this great, global, local focused service organization!

Thank you for your time and consideration on behalf of the Borrego Springs Kiwanis and our Chapter President, Brad Tidwell, 2012 Borrego Days Volunteer of the Year and Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement for Community Service Award ... a man that has been giving back to this community and its children for more than twenty years and does it every year and every day!

We hope you can join us this Wednesday and every/any Wednesday at noon for El Borrego's. Come check us out. Kiwanis may be right for you too. It sure was for me!
