West Nile Virus – Second Fatality

A second fatality has been confirmed due to West Nile virus after a 73-year-old El Cajon man died Oct. 4. Five more San Diego County residents have been confirmed to have been infected with West Nile virus. This brings the total number of people who have contracted the mosquito-driven disease this year to 11. However still pending confirmation by CDPH, are 13 further suspected San Diego County cases, including two suspected deaths.
