Maria 'Chuy' De Jesus Perez
Maria 'Chuy' de Jesus Perez, 71, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, at Eisenhower Hospital with her family by her side.
Maria, a longtime resident of Borrego Springs, was born on March 16, 1944, in Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico.
She was an active member in her community, volunteering for events at St. Richard's Catholic Church, school events for her children, and anywhere else the community needed a helping hand.
Maria is known well in Borrego Springs for her charming personality and her amazing cooking skills.
She was a loving mother, sister, and friend, always putting others before herself. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence.
Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life.
Mrs. de Jesus Perez is survived by her mother, eight children, thirteen grandchildren, and four sisters.
Memorial services for Maria will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Richard's Catholic Church in Borrego Springs.
