Andre Kajlich's goal is to set the world record in 24 hours on a hand cycle. After losing both legs in a train accident in Prague in 2003, Kajlich decided, "out of the bad can come a lot of good."
Andre's first big race will be held in Borrego Springs on Nov. 13, with the world time trial championship beginning at Christmas Circle at 6:00 a.m. To set the world record he will need to hand cycle 400 miles in 24 hours. This event is a qualifier for the RAAM where Andre could be the first solo hand cyclist to race across America in June.
