California Earthquake Drill

The Great California ShakeOut of 2015 is scheduled today at 10:15 a.m.
According to organizers, the exercise will provide an opportunity for workers in the public and private sectors, school kids and families to take a minute to practice the earthquake preparedness drill in the event of a major quake.
Employees and visitors to Sunnylands Center & Gardens in Rancho Mirage will take part in the drill with employees and visitors being joined by College of the Desert geology students, who will provide information about earthquakes. Around 45 juniors from Palm Desert High School’s Health Academy will also take part in a mock disaster and medical triage drill.
La Quinta City Hall will be closed from 7:30 - 9 a.m. in order for employees to undergo earthquake preparedness training.
