A group called the ‘Local Water Alliance’ from Hood River, Oregon has filed for a ballot measure to ban bottled water operations in their county. According to Alliance spokeswoman, Aurora del Val, Nestle hasn’t ensured a single job and trucking out millions of gallons of water when the county is facing Drought conditions, “seems irresponsible.” The group has already got more than enough signatures to put the measure on the ballot for next year. Oregon presently has their water being siphoned by over thirty water bottling plants, but this would be the first to use state-owned spring water.
