Outside The Box, the After School Science and Art Project, is a program that supports extracurricular science and art education in the schools both in Newport, Rhode Island county (new last year), and in Borrego Springs, CA (now in its fifth year), which is managed by Joya Granbery Hoyt of Middletown and her sister Pamela Granbery of Newport, RI.

In the fall of 2014, Outside The Box facilitated a joint project with the Rogers High School technical school students , Emmanuel Church and the Preservation Society of Newport County restoration shop, which sponsored field trips in two of Brian Ferreira's shop classes, to Emmanuel Church for a tour and viewing of the newly restored historic doors, and to the Preservation Society work shop for presentations by restoration specialists.

Outside The Box is offering full scholarships for children ages 4-7 years, who would like to participate in the childhood music program beginning September 17 at Emmanuel Church. Applicants from the community at large are eligible for six full scholarships for these Thursday after school classes based on a popular music program which is directed by Waylon Whitley, organist and choir master at Emmanuel Church. The Angel Choir operates as part of the Choir school of Newport County
