Most Powerful El Nino On Record Expected As Early As Late Fall

On Aug. 13 federal climate officials said the strengthening El Niño in the Pacific Ocean could possibly become one of the most powerful on record. According to the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center all of the computer models indicate a powerful El Niño will peak in the late fall or early winter. These models suggest a pattern bringing once-in-a-generation kinds of storms to drought-parched California.
