Thursday's storm across Palm Desert and Indian Wells, caused a path of destruction, some describing it as tornado-like, whipping through, uprooting trees and snapping power poles and tearing roofs off homes, leaving hundreds without electricity or air conditioning during the high temperatures.

22 households were displaced due to fallen trees and flooding. All but four have been allowed back into their homes over the weekend according to city officials.

Crews have worked tirelessly day and night and four days later, homeowners can now start the restoration process in the Palm Desert Country Club area, which took the brunt of the damage.

The Indian Wells Golf Resort, received a lot of damage on the Celebrity Golf Course. Joe Williams, director of golf, "Just looking at it with a rough estimate with lost revenues we are looking at a $1 million worth of damage, with upwards of 1000 trees on the ground."
