Desert Storm Knocks Down Over 100 Power Poles

A sever thunder storm destroyed over a hundred power poles on Thursday night with severe wind being determined as the cause. Two people were reportedly injured during the storm and power lines fell on a car. A power pole fell on top of a home, and another house lost its roof. Mecca, Desert Shores, Salton City, North Shore and North La Quinta were affected. Imperial Irrigation District was able to restore power to most of those affected by the outage by Friday morning.
