Cutca Fire- Latest update
Last updated 8/3/2015 at 9:44am
Federal firefighters are continuing to fight the Cutca fire, achieving 80% containment with no further fire growth experienced overnight. The expected final containment date is July. 31, however this is subject to change based on weather conditions and progress.
With plenty of work still to be done, crews were spiked out on the line last night and resumed work this morning. Whilst heat remains present in the interior of the fire perimeter, crews will continue mop-up operations today and the cooler temperatures expected over the next few days, will help with their efforts. Firefighters will continue to maintain a community presence and provide for structure protection should it be required.
While there has been no drone activity on the Cutca Fire, drones do interfere with firefighting efforts. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) that is in effect and any private aircraft or drone that violates the TFR could face serious criminal charges. Even without a TFR, anyone who hampers firefighting efforts could face charges as well.
