The California Water Foundation released information from a poll on Wednesday reporting that a majority of Californians would be willing to have higher water rates in order to increase water availability. 62 percent claim they wouldn’t mind paying from $1.00 - 4.00 more on each water bill to pay for infrastructure.
The poll was conducted for the nonprofit California Water Foundation by FM3, a public opinion research and strategy company that polled 1,000 random California voters by phone from July 6-13. The poll additionally discovered that the public is very worried about the Drought and the most commonly agreed upon cause of the Drought problem (besides lack of rain) is lack of infrastructure.
