Seismic Study Underway

Another geothermal plant might be on its way to the Salton Sea. Ormat Technologies, Inc., a geothermal company, is working with Valley Solutions Group Inc., a public relations firm from El Centro, to conduct a seismic study in Truckhaven, in the Salton Sea area, to find if the ground is safe to build a possible geothermal plant. Depending on the results of the study and the feasibility of the project, the construction will begin and create jobs for the local people. Ormat Technologies will hold two community meetings to inform the public of their plans. One meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 27, 6:00 p.m. at the Senior Center; with the second meeting to be held on Tuesday, July 28, 10:00 a.m. at the District Office, both in Salton City.
