L.A Gang Member Arrested on Highway 86

Border Patrol agents on the Highway 86 checkpoint near the Salton Sea, arrested a man believed to be a Los Angeles gang member Wednesday, July 8, under suspicion of human trafficking.
At about 1:00 p.m., Fermin Ruelas, a documented member of the "White Fence" Los Angeles-based gang with an extensive criminal record, and three other male passengers attempted to pass through the checkpoint in a 2005 Dodge Caravan.
According to the Border Patrol, the three men in the car with Ruelas, were determined to be undocumented Mexican immigrants.
Ruelas was arrested under suspicion of human trafficking and the three men were sent to a Border Patrol station for processing.
