Shortly before reopening the Tex Wash bridge on Interstate 10 Friday July. 24, officials have announced that it will take approximately two months and $5 million to re-build.
Caltrans Interim District Director, John Bulinski has said "Our goal is to expedite the design and construction and be open and operational by the end of September. We will not compromise safety to meet a schedule."
Earlier this week, construction crews laid the foundation for eastbound traffic to cross the center median just east of Eagle Mountain before entering the left westbound lane. Workers put finishing touches to the temporary lanes Friday morning to allow traffic to flow in both directions providing a much needed relief for motorists from lengthy detours.
