Misuse of Water in Times of Drought is World-Wide Activity

Here are a few examples of how we use, or rather misuse our precious water supplies around the world. California residents have been forced to reduce their water use as bottled water, fracking, and big Agro companies continue to pump water. Nestle and other companies, including fracking companies who pollute, pay the ridiculously low price of $2.25 for every million liters of groundwater they take in British Columbia. Brazil was once one of the most water-rich countries in the world but Sao Paulo’s rapid growth has run amok and it’s now stricken with water shortages. Taiwan has poured its water into the global electronics industry, and in seriously affected areas of the island, the Taiwan government has already started its third stage of rationing to cut water supplies- forcing Taiwan chipmakers to transport water as the Drought becomes worse.
