Another Borrego Springs' Sandstorm

Blowing sand swept across the valley on the evening of Friday, July 17, as a storm in the Gulf affected weather in the southwestern US. Winds blowing westward through Borrego Springs brings fine dust into the air and fills the sky in front of the Santa Rosa Mountains to the north. These photos show the dust cloud emanating from the Solar farm near the Borrego Valley Airport and blowing westward. As we look toward the north from Yaqui Pass Road, La Casa del Zorro is visible on the right side of the street. The dust is now usually following this pattern and the homes in the southern most part of Borrego do not experience the cloud as badly as in the northeast part of town.
