As soon as he learned of it, Dan Wright signed our Springs at Borrego on for “Tents for Troops”. This is a program that allows soldiers and sailors to stay in a campground resort two consecutive nights for free. Doesn’t this lift your heart? The Springs had four military families as non-paying guests over Memorial Day Weekend. Their thank you notes are beautiful.
Liesel Paris ran a fundraiser to help victims of the Nepal earthquake. If you were unable to attend, you can still contribute. Write Liesel a check with Nepal Quake in the memo field, mail it to her at Box 2469, or drop it off at her gallery in The Mall. She’s providing rice, noodles, oil and other basic supplies, as well as raising a roof to shelter 28 people. Let’s help. Worthwhile!
Our resorts are celebrating an outstanding season and looking forward to a very healthy summer. John Yzaquirre at Borrego Springs Resort says last season was their best and they look forward to a good summer. Karaokie Jo will arrive June 26 and sing all summer on Friday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. Golf course, spa, and The Arches will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Otherwise, whee! Hoping local sunbirds will be supportive and have fun.
Gwenn Marie of Borrego Valley Inn says they had, “a great season. Early Easter, spring flowers, rain. Looking forward to August meteor showers, rest, peace and quiet, stars.” That’s why we sunbirds love Borrego Springs in the summertime!
Cindy Wood at the Palms at Indian Head says, “Wish every month could be like March. Summer is the perfect time for that Big Beautiful Pool. Also, our summer rates always entice regular guests as well as new ones.”
And we’ll just assume that Patrick Sampson was happy with the season’s business at La Casa del Zorro.
