BORREGO BLURB: Canon backfires in Borrego

The Canon Camera USA Company has recently requested from the Avery Trust and Galleta Meadows, permission to photograph the Dennis Avery/Ricardo Breceda sculptures as part, and the highlight of, a photographic workshop that they wish to conduct in Borrego.
There seems to be a difficulty in the Trust agreeing formally with Canon Camera and consequently, the company may go elsewhere for their workshop.
It was always Dennis Avery’s wish, when alive, that the sculptures be available for all to enjoy freely. Any and all interested visitors were welcome and encouraged to delight in, photograph and promote the sculptures.
There was another instance recently, of a Canadian film crew that nearly didn’t shoot in Borrego Springs because of red tape with the Trust.
Canon Camera USA wishes to promote Borrego Springs on a worldwide level. Red tape may just end up chasing them away.
