62-Year-Old Woman Tries to Smuggle Heroin into U.S.

A 62-year-old woman tried to smuggle 7.38 pounds of black tar heroin into the United States.
She was arrested at the Highway 86 checkpoint on Sunday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m. She was turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
The heroin, with a value of $88,500, was detected by a canine team and alerted the agents. They found eight packages of heroin in the suspect’s 2004 Jeep Liberty transmission compartments.
