Airbnb, a home-sharing website, has an agreement with the city of San Diego to start charging tourist taxes to their users. Starting July 15, Airbnb will charge customers and pay the city for them, since some haven’t been paying taxes on their own. $5.6 million in occupancy taxes were paid last fiscal year to San Diego for short-term property rentals.
