Needing to take my husband to a doctor’s appointment in Rancho Mirage, I checked to see when my car was due for servicing. It was ready! Called Dann Perry’s on Monday to see if they could take me to my newspaper meeting on Wednesday, do the servicing and bring it back. Absolutely!

Went over Wednesday morning and discovered it is now ‘Jake’s Tire and Auto.’ He bought it from his father. Left my credit card at the desk, picked up Trevor, and off we went to my meeting at 10:00 a.m. At 11:30 Trevor was back, parked my car in the shade of a tree, and rode back to work with a helper. No paperwork in the car, but I planned to go back later to get it.

Was in the dog food department in the back of the Center Market when I heard someone say, “Nancy?” Turned around and there was Antonio with the paperwork and my credit card. A man next to me said, “My God! Only in Borrego Springs.” They had done everything for $50.38. Changed the oil and filter, checked all fluids, inspected everything, rotated tires, installed a ‘next service due’ sticker. And the best part, Trevor put a smiley face on it. Made me cry.

Good news for our village and its visitors. Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort at 221 Palm Canyon Drive, has spruced up their coin-op laundry. Fresh paint, brand new washers and dryers.
