On May 1, 2015 Capt. Jim’s Bar in Salton City celebrated Cinco De Mayo, a party that also denoted the first day of Capt. Jim’s new owners: Michael Linares and Lowell Kampers. This dual celebration went on from 5:00 p.m. well until midnight with happy hour prices on all drinks and lots of great food, singing and dancing.
Michael Linares and Lowell Kampers have worked together on real estate projects since 2011. Teaming up again, they are now proud owners of Capt. Jim’s Bar.
Jinny Mae and Eva Gonzoles will remain as bartenders. Jinny Mae is going on twelve years as bartender at Capt. Jim’s and Eva Gonzoles has been tending bar at Capt. Jim’s for two years.
Linares and Kampers are painting the interior and working on a new configuration for the bar. They have already added two more tables and have purchased a new pizza oven. They have added new tunes to the jukebox and have expanded their food menu to include six varieties of pizza, five different sandwiches (three pork, beef, hamburger), hot wings and egg rolls. There are fourteen varieties of beer kept at 32 degrees. Budweiser is on tap and there are over fifty varieties of liquor to choose from.
Capt. Jim’s Bar is a great place for adults of all ages. We hope many more people will come to enjoy themselves in a fully air-conditioned establishment during this long hot summer.
