Intrepid Fallen Heroes Race Across America

Last updated 6/24/2015 at 12:14pm

On June 20, four civilians began a bicycle race stretching over 3,000 miles across the country to raise money for troops combating traumatic brain injury and psychological health conditions. The Race Across America (from Oceanside, California to Annapolis, Maryland) is nearly 50 percent longer than the Tour de France and considered to be among the world’s harshest endurance cycling events. Team Intrepid Fallen Heroes is competing to raise money to build treatment centers to help military heroes through a $100 million fundraising campaign. $626,000 has been raised to date by the Team. Race Across America keeps the clock running continuously, so the winner is the rider who can ride fastest and stop the least. You may have seen these bicyclists riding through town on one of our recent incredibly hot days. The winner usually finishes after riding approximately 22 hours a day for 8 to 9 days with little or no sleep- making this an ultramarathon event. Good luck Intrepid Fallen Heroes Team.
