Man Walks 20 Miles per day Along the Salton Sea

Randy Brown begins his 116 mile journey around the Salton Sea on June 9 at 6:00 a.m. from the North Shore Yacht Club, arriving back at his starting point approximately noon on Sunday, June 14.

Brown plans to walk 10 to 20 miles a day. The predicted heat during his walk will be 110 to 120 degrees in extreme humidity due to his proximity to the water.

His walk along the shoreline of the Salton Sea has never been done before. There have been two other attempts; one was by a man who had walked the Mojave Desert. Because of the rough terrain around the Sea, the attempt ended in walking along the road. To-date no one has ever been able to walk the Salton Sea Shore all the way around.
