Agnes Schleichler celebrated 102 years

Agnes Schleicher was born on March 8, 1913 in Philadelphia, Pa.
She celebrated her 102nd birthday a week-and-half before her death on March 19. She was born to immigrant Scottish parents and, in her youth, was an accomplished Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) swimmer. She worked for The Curtis Publishing Company for thirty-five years after attending Temple University. She did extensive work on The Saturday Evening Post and TV Guide publications. She moved to Borrego Springs in 2005. The last six years she resided at the Mountain View Cottages Assisted Living Facility in Borrego Springs.
Mrs. Schleicher is Survived by a son, Dr. Alan Kuehn, a dentist in Borrego Springs, and three grandsons, Eric Kuehn of Asheville, N.C., Bradford Kuehn of Atlanta, Ga., and Jeffery Kuehn of Orlando, Fla. She also had nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert E. Kuehn in 1980.
Dr. and Mrs. Kuehn want to thank the employees of the Assisted Living Facility for their professional and compassionate help over the years. A Sunday service with reception will be held on April 11 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
